A NEW SOUND IN THIS SMALL TOWN
A Western US Pop-up Tour
“A New Sound In This Small Town” ran through June and July of 2019 as a series of free public concerts across the small towns of the western United States. It combined my favorite things—writing, performing, music and community gatherings—to share my own original music along with covers of jazz standards, classic rock, and folk songs that have shaped and inspired so much of who I am and what I create.
I grew up in a small village where community gatherings were the highlights of my summers. I wanted to share the gift of music with those whose towns do not necessarily have the resources to bring in live performers or other entertainment acts, as was the case in my hometown. It was seeing an act in my neighboring village as a young girl that inspired me to become an artist, and was the motivation for my doing this tour.
